DART Facts : Some facts you should know about the
Deterding Arts Resource Team
DART gives more than $20,000 each year to the faculty and administration that
directly subsidizes Jean Weil, visual arts specialist, George Dozet, vocal
instructor, and Sonia Takanikos,
instrumental instructor to give all students access to arts
instruction.
- Every Deterding fourth grader learns to read music and play the recorder.
- All fifth and sixth graders learn to play an instrument and become a member of the band.
- Every child at the school benefits from having a full time visual arts teacher on staff.
- DART is working to maintain a strong vocal component to our music program.
- DART offers a subsidy to all classroom teachers who need art supplies for classroom projects.
- DART owns $30,000 worth of instruments to help maintain the instrumental program.
- DART has a grant writing team in place that is attempting to improve our fundraising efforts by going after larger amounts of funding.
- DART helps to improve school infrastructure with ongoing efforts together with the PTA.
