Rapid Learner Program Philosophy :
The
mission of the Rapid Learner Program is to provide a positive,
stimulating environment that promotes advance learning. The
program sets high standards for these students by taking learning
beyond structured information gathering. They are encouraged
to apply their knowledge through critical, creative, and expansive
thinking.
Our primary focus is academic excellence, with emphasis on
developing leadership, oral and written communication, and
problem-solving skills. Students work at levels that challenge
their abilities, fuel their curiosity, and create a lifelong love of
learning.
We expect our students to take responsibility for contributing to
their learning experiences by working cooperatively and
collaboratively with their fellow classmates. One of the
greatest assets of this program is the active exchange of ideas that
occurs between these highly gifted students -- inspiring them to
explore beyond the required assignment and pool their talents to
solve challenging problems.
Our Rapid Learner program recognizes the importance of instructing
the "whole child." We are committed to helping students
develop strong self-concepts, take risks in sharing their ideas, and
feel comfortable trying new experiences.
We consciously weave the arts into the academic program to provide
an enriched learning environment. We also feel that learning
should incorporate environmental and community service experiences
at each grade level. This component teaches students the value
of diversity and heightens their awareness and appreciation of the
world around them.
