Visual Arts : Every child at Deterding benefits from having a full-time visual arts teacher on staff

The first thing I want to do is to say CONGRATULATIONS to the 18 Deterding artists who submitted their art at the California State Fair. Out of the 18 young artists, there were many, many, first, second and third place winners. I am so proud of their accomplishments.

If you are taking your family to the fair this year, please stop by the Youth Art Exhibition. In one of the display cases, I fondly call it the “Deterding Exhibition”. There are 8 Deterding artists who have their work shown. This is a wonderful way to start the year! I am very confident this year will produce even more wonderful art from our talented students.

Thank you everyone for supporting this program. What a difference it makes for our students. I will display the names of our illustrious young artists on the display board of the office. Come by and take a look!

Donations Needed

Art room needs old computer parts, wire, magazines (Ranger Rick, National Geographic, food & car magazines,) old toys, different size boxes, miscellaneous "junk" stuff.

Also packages of sponges, paper plates, and gallon containers of Elmer’s Glue.
